The ancestors of the XJ Sedan, these classics
suffer from many of the same motor and transmission woes of its descendants.  The
Mark came in several variations, including the Mark I, II, IX, X, 420 and S-types. |

    | GM V6 Conversion |
GM power for a Jaguar classic, this conversion places a
Chevrolet 90ç V6 in your Jaguar Mark I or II Sedan. The S-types and 420 (not 420G) also
benefit from this V6 conversion.   The required motor is a 90ç Chevy V6
(200-229-262) with the distributor in the rear beware, not all Chevy V6s
with rear distributors are 90ç! Suitable transmissions include the GM 4 or 5-speed
manual, T350 automatic or T700 overdrive transmission. The kit is for left hand drive cars
only.  The mounts in this kit will not work with a V8. We reviewed V8 motors
for this conversion and do not recommended them due to the small engine compartment and
    limited radiator area. |

    | Mark Quarterbreed |
Stuck in 3rd gear with the old Borg Warner DG (Detroit
Gear)?  Overdrive into the 21st century with a T700 overdrive behind your 6-cyl
motor.  This is the latest of our retrofits and the best one you can choose if you
want to keep your 6-cylinder.  A modern transmission with overdrive will amaze you. |

    | Mark Parts |
We carry a limited range of spares for your
Mark - generally any parts that are common with the the later XJ Sedans (brakes and
suspension mostly).  We definitely don't have any body, trim or interior parts for
the Mark. Check out our parts and
    products pages. |
