John's Cars carries a full line of Jaguar "XJ"
parts new, rebuilt and used. The "XJ" series includes
all models beginning with the letters "XJ"
- XJ6, XJS, XJ12, etc., from 1969. We carry some parts for the
XKE and Mark models, but these are limited to parts that were common
with the XJ cars (some brakes, suspension and electrical).
Note: This page concentrates on XJ40, X300
Sedans (1988 to 1997 XJ6). If you are looking for earlier XJ
Sedans or any XJS, click
here. We call them S4 (88-94) and S5 (95-97).
We've listed but a few parts here (mostly fast moving items) ---
call for more parts, the latest info and prices.
You may purchase via PayPal. But you will get
better customer service and sometimes lower prices by ordering
via telephone at (214)426-4100. |

Door Handles |
Don't waste your time - you can't buy anymore (time).
The handle castings break, fail, fatigue and stretch - no cure
or fix except to replace it with a new assembly. It is the casting
(not the handle) that is the real problem. This is for all
1988 and 1989 (to VIN 594575) XJ6. 1990-> will not interchange.
NEW: JCI exclusive! We have the spring that keeps the interior door handle from flopping out (this does not fix the exterior door handle). |
GMALT |
Jaguar picked GM for its A/C, power steering
and air pumps now YOU can choose a GM alternator
and exorcise The Prince of Darkness (AKA Joseph Lucas) from your
kitty. Keep the cats eyes bright with the latest Johns
Cars retrofit: GMALT, a GM alternator kit for your
XJ. |
Antenna |
For the first time, you can buy just the aerial
mast and not whole assembly - what a revolution! |
Brakes,
Hydraulics
& Shocks |
The lights on the dash keep reminding you to something,
or maybe your Jag rides like a buggy in the back. Here is
our advice and parts: SHOCKCHANGE - the JCI easy fix to convert
your hydraulic shocks to regular shocks... plus more: springs,
mineral oil, valves and the book - everything you need to diagnose
and fix your hydraulic woes. |

Don't waste your time - you can't buy
anymore (time). The handle castings break, fail, fatigue and stretch
- no cure or fix except to replace it with a new assembly. It
is the casting (not the handle) that is the real problem - that's
why I don't have any used ones, they are all broke! This
is true for all 1988-> cars. The parts listed here are for
1988 and 1989 (to VIN 594575) XJ6.
Jaguar offered NON-heated handles for warm climates and we have
them listed below. You can take the heater off of your USA handle
and install it or just ignore it if you live where it is warm!

JR's Tip: I
strongly recommend the S73 manual before you leap into the system.
99% of the time you need a CCC3832 hydraulic relief valve and
often need a CCC3834 charge/load valve. Short cut the work
this time and you will be doing it again in a few months!
Tip 2: Follow the safety steps on
this system - you must depressurize it before you start - unhook
the battery too! |

SHOCKCHANGE - the JCI easy fix to convert your hydraulic
shocks to conventional gas shocks. It includes new pair of shocks,
boots, hardware and instructions. Our kit does NOT include new
springs as our shop customers were unhappy with ride (too high
and stiff) -- we can sell you springs separately if you wish.
I don't recommend you replace the springs. This kit is my own
- others on the market don't provide enough to do the job with
the exception of the Jaguar OEM kit below. We have any factory
bushings or parts that may have perished since it was neglected
so long. Failed shocks have been known to puncture the fuel tank.
The Jaguar kit includes new springs (listed below). Their kit
with springs is 577.60. We tried numerous installations and always
got complaints from the customer, why spend more $ to have less? |
